Infinity Ward has launched Modern Warfare 3 title update #8 for the Xbox 360 last week, adding a variety of tweaks and performance enhancements. The fact that all Akimbo weapons are going to now possess a 50% reduction in fire rate, should greatly alter how players customize their classes and therefore transform gameplay enormously.
Robert Bowling creative strategist at Infinity Ward confirmed the MW3 patch 1.08 for Xbox contains:
- improved lag comp
- theater fixes
- YouTube uploads are now 100x faster
- nerf to Striker (pellets reduced to 6)
- buffs to all other shotguns (9 pellets)
- all akimbo weapons nerfed (rate of fire reduced by 50%)
- fix to an issue that prevented some users from receiving prestige token after prestiging
It will require 5MB of space for download. Presently the patch is solely intended for the Xbox 360 however Infinity Ward has stated the PC and Playstation 3 versions will follow soon. “The PS3 version of the patch had PS3 exclusive updates that delayed it slightly" stated Bowling.
Following last Tuesday's release of the very first Modern Warfare 3 DLC, Activision also released a structured DLC release agenda for all of 2012.
