Infinity Ward has announced Modern Warfare 3 DLC Content Collection #2 for May 22 on Xbox. However the brand new game mode “Face Off” is going to be available on Xbox for all free of charge from May 15 with 2 new custom maps.
There will be four maps created for Face Off exclusively. The first two are Aground and Erosion, that will be accessible to all on Xbox for free from May 15th, PC and PS3 will follow at a later time. The game mode Face Off is one-on-one or two-on-two deathmatch mode featuring four brand new maps custom built for more intimate combat.
DLC Collection 2 will in addition offer three new standard multiplayer maps. Two of them previously released via Xbox Elite and releasing for PS3 Elite members on May 10, Sanctuary and Foundation, however one is completely new. Named Oasis, it's set on a beach resort in the United Arab Emirates.
Free Face Off maps that will be included in the first release on May 15:
- Aground is set on a shipwreck off the coast of Scotland
- Erosion sees you running around Roman ruins in Italy while Mount Vesuvius erupts in the background
MW3 DLC Content Collection #2 on May 22:
Face Off Maps:
- Getaway plays out in a beachside mansion in Brazil
- Lookout is set in a forward observation post in Afghanistan
2 Spec Ops missions:
- Ironclad is set immediately after the Hamburg mission from the single player campaign, with you and a comrade attempting to make it back to the landing beach after the initial assault.
- Killswitch plays out in an all-new area set in a Russian dockyard.
3 Mutiplayer Maps:
- Sanctuary
- Foundation
- Oasis
